Just got the email today that Ctrl Zed’s latest album Food! has arrived. It’s hot off the press, and I’ll be picking up my copies sometime next week.

These look so cool!

Nigel put together this little masterpiece, complete with Red Panda, the official mascot of Ctrl Zed. Just a little taste of what’s to come with Ctrl Zed as we’re looking forward to the release of Food! and coming up with titles for a potential album next year. That is, if our lawyers can hammer out acceptable contracts.

Ctrl Zed has updated their myspace page. Go check it out. There’s a history of the band, their influences, and a new song, evidently an improv bonus track from their new album, FOOD!

Ctrl Zed is finally online with their very own mySpace page! They’ve even posted two of their newest songs, “Food!” and “Aliens Among Us.” I imagine that as they get the mixes back from the audio technician, that more songs will be posted and alternated.

Stay tuned in the future as their myspace page gets a facelift, photos and lyrics are added, tour dates announced, and t-shirts made available.

Spent six hours on Saturday recording the new Ctrl Zed album at a studio in Salt Lake City. Our sound engineer, Chris Luker, worked on several high-profile projects (including two Number One Techno songs) during his time in Europe. And from what I’ve heard of the twenty plus tracks that we recorded on Saturday, I’m am completely confident in Luker’s skills as a sound engineer to make this the best Ctrl Zed album ever! Not only is the sound quality top notch, the songs and performances are some of our best ever.

At the end of the recording session, with everyone drenched in sweat and ready to go home, the Zed suddenly broke out into a cover of two of Jonny Weekend’s hits, “The Chromosome Song” and “Shafted.” Look for them as bonus tracks! We’ll have the final mixes in a week or two. I’ll be posting a few songs for your listening pleasure as soon as I have them!
